Counselling & Hypnotherapy

 

Examples of problems I treat are:

  • Stress anxiety

  • Low self esteem, bereavement or loss

  • Self harm, abuse, relationship issues, phobias

  • Depression, weight loss or gain

  • Anger, ceasing smoking, addictions, facing a serious illness

 

However, please don’t think I can't help you if your problem is not listed. You should never think that your personal issue is unimportant or ‘silly’. Anything that you, as an individual, are finding difficult is a valid problem.

 

What is Counselling?

Counselling or therapy will take you through a very personal process and will offer you a safe and confidential environment to talk about your life and anything that may be confusing, painful or uncomfortable. As your counsellor, I will talk you through what I feel is the best method or combination of therapies to help you move forward.

 

What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a form of complementary therapy that uses the power of positive suggestion to bring about subconscious change to thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It aims to relax the conscious part of the mind while stimulating and focusing the subconscious part. It is done by using skilled relaxation techniques, where you, the client, are always in control and although in a deep relaxed state, you will be aware of what is going on around you.

Hypnotherapy is also used as an aid to counselling because the hypnotic state can allow people to explore painful thoughts or memories that might have been ‘locked away’ in your subconscious.
